		<description>In helping to move this brand forward into the 100-calorie category, there was a huge opportunity. Other reduced-calorie snacks tasted like a dry, flat version of the "real" thing. These tasted like a mini version of real cake. The word was spread through an engaging microsite that lets the user create her own experience and share the results. And we helped celebrate a 90-year anniversary with the most successful new product launch in the company's history.

		<description>USAA is the largest provider of financial services to the military and military family members. Since it was founded in 1922 the company has always put its members first.

How? First, it's member-owned, not accountable to outside stockholders. Second, membership is exclusive, being earned through military service.

So we put members first in the brand messaging, too, interviewing hundreds of members, captured in photojournalist style in their authentic surroundings.

This was USAA's first-ever integrated communications effort and covered all aspects of the business, from acquisition and new-member marketing to cross-selling and referrals on every product: checking, credit card, car and renters incsurance, auto loans and more.

Results: a 28% increase in unaided brand awareness for our core audience in just 6 months, and, an 81% increase in unaided awareness of USAA as a full financial services provider among enlisted military members.

		<description>This chocolatier and craftsman has captured the attention of casual chocolate lovers and connoisseurs alike, including celebrities like Oprah. How? In part, with a brand identity as elegant and unexpected as his product offering. By focusing on the artistry already present in his confections this brand incorporated "the art of chocolate" across the identity system, in-store, web and ecommerce, and advertising.

Not surprisingly, the brand also has strong ties to the local arts community. This outdoor “installation” of chocolate artistry in the heart of Kansas City’s arts district during a monthly gallery crawl promoted the grand opening and drove foot traffic to the new home location. Twelve individual chocolates were turned into framed art and mounted on walls, with an adjacent title card—as if hung in a gallery. The store tripled its normal sales volume and had to stay open two hours later than normal to accommodate all of the additional customers.

This microsite encouraged users to compose their own Valentine's Day messages of love (or choose a pre-written template) using "chocolate" letters, then send to a significant other and/or post to Facebook or Twitter. In less than three weeks, this resulted in well over 20,000 unique users and almost $10,000 in sales directly attributed to the effort.

		<description>The visual identity and brand voice for this new restaurant in a small Kansas City neighborhood took cues from the well-stocked yet welcoming kitchen of its award-winning founder and chef. The name derives from her main cooking influences, Julia Child and her grandfather Julian. The budget was spared by seizing every often-overlooked branding opportunity—using inexpensive objects and elements to communicate upscale comfort food in a setting that isn’t uncomfortable.

		<description>When actress Amanda Bynes teamed up with us to introduce her clothing line nation-wide to teens aged 13-17, it was experience in budget-savvy retail that nailed the audition.

But instead of just screaming a great price point, this campaign leverages an important insight: a teenage girl uses fashion to help explore and decide who she is—and after making most decisions, she changes her mind, quite often. What better way to accommodate her than with more cool clothes for her money?

This project included brand creation and a full identity system, in-store signage, clothing labels, print ads, mall and transit posters, direct mail, gift cards and a full press kit showcasing different looks that was sent to fashion magazines and general pop-culture press.

The Dear website includes an interactive closet where users can mix and match looks as well as jewelry, then share them and invite friends to join the experience or save them to their shopping list to remember in-store.
